“Arise [from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you–rise to a new life]! Shine (be radiant with the glory of the Lord), for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you!” (Isaiah 60:1)
No matter how beat down life is at the moment, we just can’t wallow in it. The Lord says “Arise!” get up and dust yourself off! A whole new life is on the other side of this thing!
There are two commands here: Arise and Shine. It is only when we get up from the depression and despair of our circumstances that the glory of the Lord can shine upon us. The glory is always there for us, but it won’t shine until we get up! You are very valuable to God. He paid a very high price for you. His glory is waiting for you so get up and move into a whole new life! Don’t let the despair of your current circumstances defeat you. Circumstances change like emotions. They are only temporary. Look to the Rock who never changes.
