This is the beginning of a new daily devotional on what Jesus said during His earthly ministry. These scriptures are taken from the book “And Jesus said…” by Trinity Broadcasting Network. I was going through all my books and found this treasure. I’m not even sure when I got it or where I got it. It is my prayer that as we go through this little book, we can all find a deeper and more intimate relationship with Jesus, Who is the Author and the Finisher of our faith.
“I am the bread of life. No one who comes to Me will ever be hungry again. Those who believe in Me will never thirst. But you haven’t believed in Me even though you have seen Me. However, those the Father has given Me will come to Me, and I will never reject them. For I have come down from heaven to do the will of God Who sent Me, not to do what I want. And this is the will of God, that I should not lose even one of all those He has given Me, but that I should raise them to eternal life at the last day. For it is My Father’s will that all who see His Son and believe in Him should have eternal life–that I should raise them at the last day.” (John 6:35-40 NLT)
“Jesus said to them, “I am the Bread of Life. Come every day to Me and you will never be hungry. Believe in Me and you will never be thirsty. Yet I’ve told you that even though you’ve seen Me, you still don’t believe in Me. But everyone My Father has given to Me, they will come. And all who come to Me, I will embrace and will never turn them away. And I have come out of heaven not for My own desires, but for the satisfaction of My Father who sent Me. My Father who sent Me has determined that I will not lose even one of those He has given to Me, and I will raise them up in the last day. For the longing of My Father is that everyone who embraces the Son and believes in Him will experience eternal life and I will raise them up in the last day!” (John 6:35-40 TPT)
Jesus said that He is the Bread of Life and to come EVERY DAY. Bread is eaten every day, not just on Sunday or Wednesday. It is the daily intimate relationship that the Father is seeking from all who call Him Lord.
Jesus said to some “even though you’ve seen Me, you still don’t believe.” People who don’t want to believe can actually see His mighty work and choose to write it off to chance or a fluke. God knows the end from the beginning, so He knows who want Him and those who don’t. His Spirit will draw everyone, but not everyone will accept. Those who do are given to Jesus, Who will keep us and raise us up at the last day.
Jesus said that His Father, OUR Father, longs for EVERYONE to embrace His Son and receive the gift of eternal life. That is His perfect will for everyone from Adam until today. Does everyone accept? No, and there are millions of souls in Hell that can attest to that. It’s like in America, where everyone has the opportunity to pursue his or her dreams, but does everyone do that? No. So they live their lives missing out on what could have been.
A life lived with Jesus every day is a life that is full. It is full peace, joy and purpose. Are there difficulties and problems? Sure there are. Are their persecutions? Yes, definitely. But life in the Kingdom with Jesus Christ, there is always victory and hope. And most of all there is peace in the midst of the most violent of storms.
And that is just on the earth. Consider the eternal rewards He has stored up for each of us! I sure don’t want to miss out on the greatest party ever held: the Marriage Supper of the Lamb! You don’t have to either. RSVP today by asking Jesus to come into your heart and be your Savior, Lord and Master.
Blessings everyone…
Thank so much. Very helpful
