And Jesus Said… – Day 4

“I am the resurrection and the life.  Those who believe in Me, even though they die like everyone else, will live again.  They are given eternal life for believing in Me and will never perish.” (John 11:25-26 NLT)

“Martha,” Jesus said, “You don’t have to wait until then.  I am the Resurrection and I am Life Eternal.  Anyone who clings to me in faith, even though he dies, will live forever.”  And the one who lives by believing in Me will never die.”  Do you believe this?” (John 11:25-26 TPT)

I love how Jesus doesn’t mince words about who He is.  He is boldly stating that He is the ONLY way to eternal life and He is also giving an invitation to partake of eternal life NOW.  Martha was grieving because Lazarus had died and Jesus was teaching her about eternal life in Him.  Right after that He literally raised Lazarus from the dead and he went on to live out the rest of his life.

The Passion Translation brings this truth out further by saying “anyone who clings to Me in faith.”  Clinging to someone is to be as close as you possibly can to them.  Like a child clings to his or her mother.  They never want to be apart from them.  That is the level of love and intimacy Jesus wants from each one of us.

Death doesn’t mean ceasing to exist on any level.  It means separation.  Our spirit and soul is separated from our physical body.  Our physical body will be resurrected at an appointed time when the trumpet sounds for followers of Jesus Christ that have died physically.  Even those who die without Jesus will be physically resurrected with their physical body at the end of time.

The second death that Jesus talks about is the Lake of Fire where all rebellion goes.  People who reject Jesus on earth will get their desire of not having Him for all eternity…in the lake of fire.  They will go here in a physical, immortal body that cannot die.  This thought should be enough motivation for the followers of Jesus Christ to pray for the lost ones and get out there and tell as many as will listen about the good news of salvation!

Coming to Jesus out of fear of the lake of fire is not the right motive.  It’s His goodness and love that draws people.  We, as His people, should be demonstrating that love to the lost ones in our realm of influence.  Being kind and loving shows them how good He is.  They are drawn by the peace and love in our lives.  Our intercessory prayers for the lost are crucial for God to move in the lives of the lost.  Don’t waste your days on earth chasing material comforts.  That is not why we are here.  We are here to populate the Kingdom of God with the souls of the lost ones.

When this is our first desire, all the material comforts will be added by God to your life!  Seek FIRST His kingdom and righteousness and He will take care of your every earthly need beyond what you can imagine.

Don’t know Him?

Meet Jesus Here…

Blessings everyone…
