Guard Your Heart to Be on the Narrow Road

“Be careful that you never allow your hearts to grow cold.  Remain passionate and free from anxiety and the worries of this life.  Then you will not be caught off guard by what happens.  Don’t let Me come and find you drunk or careless in living like everyone else.  For that day will come as a shocking surprise to all, like a downpour that drenches everyone, catching many unaware and unprepared.

Keep a constant watch over your soul (mind, will emotions), and pray for the courage and grace to prevail over these things that are destined to occur and that you will stand before the presence of the Son of Man with a clear conscience.” (Luke 21:34-36 Passion Translation Bible)

The Bible calls the path to eternal life “the narrow way.”  To follow Jesus Christ is to live carefully, not carelessly.  He is very intentional, so we must live very intentional in everything we do.  He gives a stern warning to us that completely blows away the “greasy grace” doctrine so popular today.  He said, “Don’t let Me come and find you drunk or careless in living.”

I ponder on my life these days with Him and marvel at how narrow it has become compared to just a few years ago.  I am discovering the closer you get to Him in intimacy, the less the worldly things appeal to you.  He must be your consuming passion to live in this wicked world.  He did not come to just give a ticket out of Hell.  His purchase includes so much more!

Don’t think that walking on the narrow road is causing you to “miss out” on life.  On the contrary, real living is found on the narrow road.  I’ve had people tell me that if they can’t have a spouse, then they just don’t want to live on the earth anymore.  I marvel at this thinking because I’m alone and a husband is not in my future, but God has completely filled up my life with HIM.  He’s way better than a human being can ever be as far as I’m concerned.

It’s not hard to guard your heart when you are passionately in love with Him.  When He is number one, it just flows naturally.  The key is to pursue Him every day deeper and deeper.  We must live like He is coming today not fifty years from now when our natural life is over.  Today is the day that counts.

If you are reading this and realize you have been living carelessly, then make the decision today to turn up the heat of your passion for Jesus Christ.  Get back on the narrow road and let Him fill your life to overflowing with His plans and purposes.  I promise you won’t regret it!

Don’t know Him?

Meet Jesus Here…

Blessings everyone…

Do you regret being divorced and choosing to live singly for Christ Jesus?

I wouldn’t say I regret anything in my past anymore. I have released it all and in God’s eyes, it no longer exists. I don’t live in the past, only the present. Jesus said to not worry about tomorrow and the Apostle Paul said old things are passed away, so in my “now” life, I have no regrets. God makes all things NEW. So I have a whole new life in Christ.

When you have a husband, that relationship takes away from your ability to fully devote yourself to the Lord. God expects a wife to take care of her family and that is a big job. It is an important job too because a unified husband and wife can demonstrate to the world what unity looks like. What love looks like. When a woman is widowed, she can choose to remarry or she can remain single to devote herself to the Lord. A divorced woman, according to what Jesus said, doesn’t have the option of remarriage. For me personally, remarriage is not an option, but I am fulfilled in my life with Him.

I guess a challenge is on my birthday, valentine’s day and the Christmas Holidays. When I was married, my husband was good to me on these holidays. But I’m 60 years old now and I’ve been through 2 failed marriages. Like my brother says “the juice ain’t worth the squeeze.” I’m too busy and too used to being free from the responsibilities of a man and I just love living alone with Jesus. My normal days are busy from the time I get up until I go to bed. Jesus has filled my life, so I really don’t regret anything. Blessings…Micki

Hi Brenda ~ yes I’m a prime example of what NOT to do when marrying! If I would have waited on the Lord, and married HIS choice, I would still be married today. But I didn’t and yes divorce is very difficult to go through. Now I consider Jesus my Husband. I’m 60 years old now and thing ways of youth are not there anymore for me. But never doubt that Jesus isn’t able to fully satisfy! My life is extremely full of purpose and joy. I love dwelling with Him :-).

Wow,i would like to hear more from you on this subject,i have not interacted with any christian woman who has decided to live her life totally devoted to Jesus Christ and choosing not to get married as far as i can remember .I am a 22 year old lady, still a student but the subject of living singly to Christ is of interest to me, and i have always wanted to meet such ladies who have decided to follow the path Anna (the prophetess) took ,especially those that are older so that i may learn and be mentored by them, fortunately after a long time of waiting,i met you.any advises would be appreciated.

I’ve been married twice and divorced twice. There are conflicting viewpoints on remarriage, so I went to Jesus and asked Him if it was in His plan for my life to give me as a wife to one of His sons. He said Matthew 5, so I went to Matthew 5 and these words hit me between the eyes: “and whoever marries a woman who has been divorced commits adultery.” That was my answer. No. It is not in His plan for me, so I dropped it. Jesus is Lord of my life and I obey whatever He wants to do, so as far as I am concerned the matter is closed. I’m very fulfilled and happy to be with Jesus and not have a husband.
