Moses: The Calling
This week we are studying Exodus chapter 3 when Moses was called by God Himself to begin the process of freeing the Israelites from their slavery to Egypt. What strikes me about this chapter is that from the very start, the relationship between God and Moses was supernatural. How often do people come across a bush burning but not being consumed and them a voice speaking out of it? Their relationship was a powerful friendship.
Exodus 3:1 “Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian; and he led the flock to the back or west side of the wilderness and came to Horeb or Sinai, the mountain of God.”
Moses leaves the pagan house of Pharoah to the priestly home of his father-in-law. God led him out of darkness into His marvelous light. Moses’ profession was as a shepherd to the flocks of his father-in-law…
