PRAYERS FOR HEALING
“Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed.” ~ (James 5:6)
The prayers in this chapter are for physical and inner healing. The approach of these prayers is grounded in the knowledge of the authority of the believer found in Matthew 28:18-19. Jesus spoke directly to the situation to bring healing to the people He ministered to during His ministry and that is the way that these prayers are worded.
Before Jesus ascended to the Father’s right hand, He gave us His authority to heal the sick. He even promised that greater deeds we would do because He went to the Father. This is great news!
These prayers speak directly to the problem and declare the Word of God over it. We have the authority in Jesus Christ to lay hands on the sick and KNOW they shall recover. This authority includes laying hands on ourselves at any time we have physical illnesses. I’m not saying not to go to a doctor because the Lord uses doctors to help people all the time. BUT, you should go to HIM first. He may tell you to go to a doctor to take care of it OR He may have you go to the elders of the church and get anointed with oil for healing. If your faith is at a level to speak to your own body to line up with the Word of God, then these prayers are for you. If not, there is absolutely nothing wrong with seeking the help of a medical professional. I have to be honest, it’s cheaper to let God heal me and that is why I use these prayers. God always goes to the ROOT of the problem.
PRAYERS FOR PHYSICAL HEALING
CHRONIC AND INCURABLE DISEASES
Chronic diseases include Diabetes, COPD, cancers and Multiple Sclerosis among many others. Every incurable disease has the spirit of death attached to it. Another thing to note about chronic or incurable diseases is that there is usually a spiritual root cause associated with it. Spiritual roots require inner healing to remove the legal ground the enemy has to put a physical disease on you. Chapter Ten “The Court of Heaven, discusses Satan’s legal ground in-depth.
Father, I come before You in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ! I come to You through the Blood of Jesus Christ. I thank You that healing is the children’s bread and I AM Your child! I have given You all my problems and stresses and fears Lord.
In the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, i bind and rebuke you spirit of death! I shall not die, but live to declare the glory of the lord! I bind you spirits of infirmity and pain! I rebuke you off of this body immediately in Jesus’ Name! Your legal ground has been taken back! I release the kingdom of God into _______________ (name the part of your body) in the Name of Jesus! I command _________________________ to line up with the word of god in Jesus’s’ name. Healing comes forth in the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth!
I release the kingdom of god into every area and cell of my physical body in the name of Jesus. thank you, Jesus, for healing me! amen and amen!
CANCER PRAYER
Cancer is probably one of the most feared words in the English language. BUT Jesus paid for it with His broken body. He took a stripe named CANCER. Jesus said “with God ALL things are possible!”
Cancer is out of control cells. You can speak to these cells in the name of Jesus to die. Again, I’m not saying, to not go to the doctor if that is what God wants you to do. Even if you are in the middle of chemotherapy, you can STILL speak the Word of God over your body. You can speak to those cancer cells.
FATHER, I COME BEFORE YOU IN THE MIGHTY NAME OF JESUS CHRIST OF NAZARETH. I BRING _________________ BEFORE YOUR THRONE OF GRACE. _______________ HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH CANCER LORD. I PETITION THE COURT OF HEAVEN FOR HEALING TO BE RELEASED INTO HIS/HER BODY IN JESUS’ NAME.
FATHER, YOUR WORD SAYS THAT YOU ARE THE GOD THAT HEALS ALL OUR DISEASES. YOU DAILY LOAD US WITH BENEFITS BECAUSE YOU LOVE US AND WE ARE IN COVENANT TOGETHER. HEALING IS THE CHILDREN’S BREAD AND _____________ IS YOUR CHILD. FATHER, I RELEASE MY FAITH INTO THIS SITUATION TO BRING VICTORY TO _____________’S LIFE IN JESUS’ NAME!
SPIRIT OF DEATH, I REBUKE YOU IN THE NAME OF JESUS AND CANCEL YOUR ASSIGNMENT TO DESTROY ________’ S LIFE IN JESUS’ NAME! I SPEAK TO EVERY CANCER CELL IN HIS/HER BODY NOW AND COMMAND YOU TO DIE IN JESUS’ NAME! I CURSE EVERY CANCER CELL NOW AND DECREE AND DECLARE THAT YOU HAVE NO PLACE IN THIS BODY IN JESUS’ NAME!
FATHER, I THANK YOU THAT TODAY IS A GOOD DAY FOR ________________. TODAY IS THE DAY OF HEALING FOR HIM/HER/ME. I THANK YOU THAT ____________ SHALL NOT DIE BUT LIVE TO DECLARE YOUR GLORY! I STAND IN FAITH AND EXPECTION OF YOUR WORD TO COME TO PASS IN JESUS’ NAME!
Now, praise and thank Him every day for victory and life over this evil disease. Stand strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Keep praising God no matter how long it takes for the victory to manifest.
PRAYERS FOR INNER HEALING
God heals from the inside out. When the inside is healed, the outside can be healed. It is a natural progression. What is inner healing? Inner healing is God fixing the broken spirit and the wounded soul. Only God can heal a broken heart–a broken spirit. God is a Spirit and we interact with Him spirit to Spirit. There are wounds that are in our soul, which are caused by the hurtful words and deeds of other people.
There are several ways people get wounded including abandonment, betrayal, all forms of abuse (physical, mental, emotional, sexual and verbal), and bullying in all its ugliness. These wounds are called “trauma points” or entry points into the soul that give the enemy (Satan) access to work his evil in a person’s life. These trauma points, can cause people to become bitter and full of hate, children can become rebellious and out of control.
At this point, a person becomes bound up by unforgiveness and bitterness which blocks the Lord from being able to heal the person. There are several things that block anyone from receiving healing including unforgiveness, bitterness, hatred and anger, rebellion and active sin against God’s known will. God’s known will is what the Bible decrees as sin such as lying, drinking too much, sex outside of marriage, worshipping other gods etc. These things will block the power of God from moving in your life. These blocks must be removed by inner healing and repentance.
There are many ways we can get wounds in our soul, but the process for healing is still the same for it all. Two words: JESUS CHRIST. He is our Great Physician. He heals the inside as well as the outside. He is our Wonderful Counselor. He can do in a few minutes what a lifetime of therapy won’t do. He can HEAL. Therapy can help by getting it outside of ourselves, but therapy cannot heal. Only the healing power of God heals.
THORNS AND FIERY DARTS
There are two main areas of inner healing that are outlined in this book. Thorns and Fiery Darts. Thorns are wounds from interacting with other people. Let’s face it, some people are hard to get along with! Some people bite you in the face of your kindness. Some people like to hurt others. These people need inner healing too! Thorns will happen in ANY relationship. Husbands and wives, parents and children, siblings, best friends, a rude cashier, an angry boss and the list goes on.
Fiery Darts are sent directly from the enemy using another person. Fiery darts are completely debilitating so that the person can’t even begin to forgive until the fiery dart comes out. Fiery darts are shot at a believer from ambush by the enemy usually using someone the person trusts. Fiery darts take time to recover from. They go in deep and only the Lord can heal it.
An example of a thorn is when your spouse snaps at you for a simple question. Or your boss calling you on the carpet in front of co-workers. These wounds hurt but they aren’t debilitating. The relationship remains intact when the offender apologizes or tries to make up. The wound is still there and needs healing, but you can bounce back pretty quickly.
On the other hand, a fiery dart completely destroys the relationship. The wounded person, can’t forgive and can’t get past it. It is like a soldier hit in the chest on the battlefield. It is so important to deal with a fiery dart as soon as possible to avoid a root of bitterness and judgment to take root in your soul. That is the goal of a fiery dart: to separate you from God through bitterness and unforgiveness. An example of a fiery dart is a spouse caught in adultery or a trusted friend or relative turning on you suddenly. You just never saw it coming. Abandonment and betrayal are the favorite fiery darts of the enemy.
But God has provided healing from the inside through the finished work of the Cross by Jesus Christ! Isn’t God good? Whenever we get wounded, no matter if it is a thorn or a fiery dart, go immediately to God for inner healing. He is faithful to heal us from the inside out.
What about those people who have never had inner healing from thorns and fiery darts? Chances are that the darts and thorns have long since taken root in the soul as bitterness, unforgiveness and rage. Repentance is the key to opening these wounds to the light of God’s healing power. It is a sin to harbor unforgiveness and bitterness. The Bible says to forgive those who hurt us. It’s not for their benefit but ours. It is a sin to hold on to anger because anger festers into hatred if left alone—and it will affect your physical health eventually.
WHEN JESUS COUNSELS…
As mentioned earlier in this chapter, Jesus is our Wonderful Counselor. Did you know that you can ask Him to come and counsel with you? Right where you are, He will come and counsel with you. If you are a child of God, then you should know the voice of your master, Jesus Christ. You can tell Him anything. He is not shocked by anything you say to Him. Pray this prayer to ask Jesus to come and counsel with you.
PRAYER TO ASK JESUS TO COUNSEL WITH YOU
FATHER, I THANK YOU FOR JESUS WHO IS MY WONDERFUL COUNSELOR! LORD JESUS, I ASK YOU TO COME AND COUNSEL WITH ME NOW.
I REFUSE TO ALLOW THESE TOXIC EMOTIONS TO REMAIN IN MY LIFE ONE MORE DAY! LORD I REPENT, FOR THE SIN OF UNFORGIVENESS IN MY HEART AGAINST ____________________. I RELEASE ________________ FROM MY MENTAL PRISON AND FORGIVE THEM FOR HURTING ME. I ASK THAT YOU BLESS THEM SPIRITUALLY IN JESUS’ NAME.
I CHOOSE THIS DAY TO OBEY YOUR WORD TO LOVE THOSE WHO HURT ME AND DESPISE ME. I ASK FOR INNER HEALING TODAY IN JESUS’ NAME.
Now wait for the presence of the Lord to come. You will know it. His presence cannot be ignored. When you perceive He has come, then begin to tell Him about the wound. It doesn’t matter how long ago it was, just start telling Him about it. As you begin, He will start pulling it out and healing you. Chances are you will break down and cry as the flood gates of emotion and pain are opened. Just let it go until you can no longer feel it anymore. Once all the toxic emotions are spent, Jesus can heal you from the inside out.
PRAYER FOR THE OIL, THE WINE AND THE BALM OF GILEAD
LORD JESUS POUR THE OIL AND THE WINE INTO EVERY WOUND IN MY SOUL NOW. LET THE OIL AND THE WINE FILL UP EVERY ROOT SHAFT AND HEAL ME COMPLETELY FROM THE INSIDE OUT. PLEASE APPLY THE BALM OF GILEAD TO THESE WOUNDS AND MAKE ME WHOLE AGAIN. LET THESE WOUNDS BE HEALED SO COMPLETELY THAT IT IS LIKE I WAS NEVER WOUNDED.
I THANK YOU, LORD JESUS FOR HEALING ME AND SETTING ME FREE FROM THE BONDAGE OF ANGER AND UNFORGIVENESS AND BITTERNESS! I THANK YOU THAT THE SON HAS SET ME FREE AND I AM FREE INDEED!
Now begin to praise Him. Sing, shout, and/or dance. Whatever will express your gratitude at what He has done in your life. As you do this, you will get freer and freer in His presence. Isn’t God good?
Use this process every time you get wounded, because it is inevitable that you will get wounded again. Run to Jesus immediately for healing. Don’t let a day pass without dealing with it. Especially a fiery dart. Please be aware that with any wound, fiery dart or thorn, your emotions are not what you look at. Emotions are temporary. They change. Do what the Bible says to do and your emotions will eventually line out too.
