In today’s society, especially in western cultures, sex is very casual. Dating has been replaced with “hook-ups” for casual sex. What people don’t realize is that unlike other sins, sexual sins are sins not only against God but against our own bodies. I Corinthians 6:18 says “Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body.” Romans 1:27 says “Men behaved in the same way. They stopped wanting to have sex with women and had strong desires for sex with other men. They did shameful things with each other, and what has happened to them is punishment for their foolish deeds.”
Fornication is not limited to one type of sex. Fornication is having sex with someone you are not married to in the eyes of God. This includes heterosexual sex, homosexual sex. bestiality, pedophilia, and masturbation. In God’s sight, these sexual sins are all the same. The physical consequences can differ, but sexual sin is sexual sin. The same love and forgiveness is applied to repentance for ANY of these sins. God LOVES people. ALL people.
The following prayers are broken out into each type of fornication to make it flow better. There is no condemnation in Christ Jesus, so don’t feel unworthy. Run to Him!
Prayer of Repentance for Sex Addiction
This prayer is for a person who is addicted to sex. Any behavior that is “driven” is demonic and the person needs to be delivered. It starts with repentance. The Bible says in I Peter 5:6 “Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that He may lift you up in due time.”
Sexual addiction is a vicious cycle of gratification and shame. But God has a better way! Bring your broken life and give it to Him. He makes ALL things new. He has the ability AND the willingness to do it.
“Father, I come before You in the Name of Jesus Christ. Your Word says that all who call upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved. I claim that promise for myself today in Jesus’ Name.
Father, I confess that I am addicted to sex. I just can’t get enough, and I can’t overcome it by myself. I need You to deliver me from this cage and the chains that bind me. I ask You to forgive me Lord for yielding my body to this lifestyle. I repent for living a life of fornication that violates, not only Your Word but my own body.
Father, from the pit I cry out to You for deliverance. I choose this day to come out of agreement with the spirit of lust and I say, “LUST GET OUT OF MY SOUL NOW IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST OF NAZARETH!”
Lord, Jesus save me and cleanse me from all unrighteousness and make me as white as snow that I may glorify You with my life from this day forth. Wash me in Your Blood. Create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me O Lord. Father, I thank You for saving me and delivering me from this pit! I’m so grateful! Let the Kingdom of God come into my life now in Jesus’ Name. Amen and Amen!
Prayer of Repentance for Heterosexual Fornication
This prayer is for those who are heterosexual. Realize this: praying this prayer without a heart of repentance is not going to do anything. God looks at the heart, not what words you speak. This prayer is to REPENT and turn away from any further fornication. If it isn’t your intention to STOP fornicating, then don’t bother to pray anything. Grace is not a license to keep on fornicating. However, if you want to return to God’s way, and you mean it, then pray this prayer:
“Father, I come to You in the Name of Jesus Christ. I confess that I have sinned sexually before You Lord. I have committed fornication with ______________. I confess this act as sin against You and against my own body. I am sorry Lord for yielding my body to be an instrument of sin. Prayer of Repentance for Homosexual Fornication
This prayer is for those who are homosexual. Male or female. I’m not here to have a debate about LGBT issues. If you are reading this page, then I am assuming you want to be free from homosexuality. If you aren’t, then throw the book away and live your life your way. For those who want to be free, realize this: Coming out of homosexuality is hard, but not impossible. The same power that rose Jesus from the dead, can deliver you from the power of homosexuality. All sexual sin is a bondage, but the bondage of homosexuality is very strong. Because of that, this prayer has two components. One to repent and the other for deliverance of the evil spirit that drives you.

Pedophilia is a worldwide problem in the twenty-first century. It is a perversion against children that is an abomination in the Lord’s sight. However, it is NOT unforgivable for God. There are consequences to pedophilia that you might face like legal consequences, but you can make things right with God. NOTE: I am not in any way condoning pedophilia by offering a prayer of repentance for it. But, God’s mercy is so great that He will forgive someone who is bound by this perversion and it is a bondage like any other sexual sin. God loves people—ALL PEOPLE. Like homosexuality, pedophilia is also driven by spirits of lust and perversion and so this prayer has a deliverance component. NOTE: You may have to find a Christian who can help you get delivered but this is a starting point.

That is what this prayer is focused on.

Yes, I’m going there. You might be asking “why is masturbation a sin?” Masturbation is self-gratification that requires your mind to think about sexual acts that are ungodly and unholy. The Bible says in Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things.”
We are told to renew our minds, to think on pure and good things. Masturbation requires sexual acts to be played across the screen of your mind to bring you to an orgasm. I’m just being real here. Masturbation separates you from God because it is a sexual sin that is against your own body. What does masturbation include? It includes your hand, a doll or any other device that externally stimulates you. It also includes cybersex. Note that cybersex is also adultery if you are married, as is pornography.
I’m not here to debate it because I know a lot of people, Christians included, see nothing wrong with masturbation. I am assuming if you want to pray this prayer, you are seeking a deeper relationship with God and you can’t have that if you are masturbating. A perversion is anything that is outside of God’s perfect will on sex. Therefore, masturbation is a perversion that needs to be dealt with. This prayer will be clean a slate for a fresh start with God.

But God is able to make all things new. You need to realize that adultery has consequences that you have to deal with in the earth, but in heaven, your sins are gone, and you are in right standing with Him.

Prayer of Repentance for Pornography
Pornography is a death trap because it sears your conscience. It destroys marriages and ministries of Christian leaders. It is one of the most addictive behaviors known to man and it is driven by the spirits of Lust and Perversion.
Pornography is very invasive in your mind because it brands erotic images in your mind as long as you live. For example, I’m almost sixty years old but I can still remember every detail of the first pornographic film I watched when I was a teenager. At any time, I can call up those images and dwell on them if I choose to.
Pornography is a sin of the heart, the mind, and the body and it is adultery, fornication, and perversion. It is not an “open” sin like the others we have discussed. People hide it well, but God sees it all. He loves people trapped in this horrible pit and wants them to get free and stay free.
Pornography is directly tied to masturbation because it is the images in your mind that drive the masturbation gratification. Like the other sexual sins, it is difficult to break free from pornography, but God has the path out to victory. It starts with a repentant heart and purposing in your heart to get free.

What is sado-masochism? Here is what Webster’s dictionary defines it as:
“interaction, especially sexual activity, in which one person enjoys inflicting physical or mental suffering on another person, who derives pleasure from experiencing pain.”
Sado-Masochism is a sexual perversion because God did not create sex to be used to inflict pain. Even if the couple is man and wife, sado-masochism is dark and cruel. There is something wrong inside the soul that wants to inflict pain and the soul that wants to be hurt. Sado-masochism is a bondage and can be an addictive behavior that will drive the person lower and lower into very dark places.
Again, I’m not here to debate about Sado-Masochism and I am assuming that if you are here reading this prayer, you want to be free to serve and love God completely. If you want to be free from sado-masochism pray this prayer and mean it in your heart.

Breaking Ungodly Sexual Soul-Ties
The act of intercourse creates a strong soul-tie or bond between a husband and a wife that God puts in place. The “glue” of a good marriage is intimacy and sexual intercourse is about as intimate as you can get. The soul-tie formed between a husband and a wife is the strongest because God is always witness to a marriage between a man and a woman.
In the garden, it was established, and it has not changed regardless of the laws of man in the twenty-first century. However, sexual intercourse outside of marriage also known as fornication or adultery (if married), also forms a soul-tie. It doesn’t matter what gender or even species it is—a soul-tie is formed through sin that keeps one coming back again and again.
This is why an unfaithful spouse can’t “give up” their lover even though they know it’s wrong and hurting others. It is called an “ungodly soul-tie” and to get the slate cleaned before God it must be broken as part of repentance for sexual sin.
The Bible has quite a bit to say about the one-flesh union.
- Genesis 2:24 says “For this reason, a man shall leave his father and his mother and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh.”
- I Corinthians 6:9 says “Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals.”
- Romans 1:26 says “This is why God delivered them over to degrading passions.For even their females exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones.”
- I Corinthians 6:16 says “Or do you not know that the one who joins himself to a prostitute is one body with her? For He says, “THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH.”
- Revelation 21:8 says “But to the fearful and unbelieving, and sinners, and those who make themselves abominable, and murderers, and fornicators, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, their part is in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone; which is the second death.”
“In the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, I break the ungodly soul-tie with ______________ right now. I apply the Blood of Jesus Christ to the severed soul-tie(s), never to be re-formed in Jesus’ Name. Encouragement
What happens if you fall and fornicate again? It’s the HEART that God looks at. He knows if you love Him and want His ways in your life. He knows it you are looking for a “grace ticket” also.
It’s not easy to stay out of sexual sin once it had a grip on you and it will always come and test your commitment to the Lord. Jesus said in Matthew 12:43 that when the spirit is cast out it goes to dry places and then returns to try and get back in. Don’t be surprised it you get hit with difficult temptations!
Purpose in your heart to overcome and follow Jesus no matter if you fall or not. I have a friend who told me that it took eight years to finally get victory over lesbianism. She was determined to follow Jesus and He was faithful to deliver her. Sometimes it happens at once, sometimes it is a process. In the end, you will win if you don’t give up!
