“But we look for new heavens and a new earth according to His promise, in which righteousness (uprightness, freedom from sin, and right standing with God) is to abide. So, beloved, since you are expecting these things, be eager to be found by Him at His coming without spot or blemish and at peace [in serene confidence, free from fears and agitating passions and moral conflicts].” (II Peter 3:13-14)
One of the greatest things that Christians have is HOPE. We have hope of a better tomorrow. Even in the times of terror and fear, we have hope that God will bring us through it and into a brighter day.
God has prepared for us a whole new heavens and earth because this planet will be destroyed by fire one day. The people of God are looking for this wonderful day, when after all the dust settles and the judgments are completed on that day…He will bring our new home to us. Hope is a good thing. Hope is the beginning of faith.
Even though the times are hard and even perilous, as believers in Jesus Christ, we have the hope that in the end–we win. We inherit the promises of God. We will rule and reign with Jesus Christ. Lord help us to do what You did. You looked past the Cross–the shame and the pain–and into the victory. Help us today to look past our shame and pain and into the victory that You paid for so long ago!
