The Walk

“There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.  For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.  For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

For those who live according to the flesh, set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.  For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.  Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be.  So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.” (Romans 8:1-8)

The Word of God is not a surface only book.  It has levels and levels of Truth that only God can bring to you.  On the surface, this scripture is a wonderful promise.  Yay!  I have no condemnation because I asked Jesus into my heart!  Yay me!  Hold on..here comes a four letter word: WALK.  WHO DO NOT WALK ACCORDING TO THE FLESH.  It is all about the intimate relationship.  This promise does not apply to backslidden Christians living just like the rest of the world.  This promise does not apply to the casual Christian whose heart is full of anger, hate and unforgiveness.

These are things that Satan can use against you.  He is the accuser of the brethren and he is always looking for ammunition to use against us. To be carnally minded means that your eyes are on the things you can see, hear, feel, taste and touch.  The five natural senses are as spiritual as you get.  Living like this brings condemnation because without the Spirit of God to lead you, there is always be ample opportunity for Satan to accuse you before God in the Court of Heaven.

God is a Spirit and because He is a Spirit, we must worship Him in Spirit and in Truth.  He requires that.  Jesus Christ came in the flesh to satisfy the requirements of the wages of sin: DEATH and eternal separation from God.  And because He was victorious over death, Hell and the grave, WE ARE VICTORIOUS!  But it requires a conscious decision in each person’s heart to walk in the ways of God and forsake the ways of the world.  You can’t go East and West at the same time.  Your back is facing one or the other.  Jesus said that “I am the Way and the Truth and the Life, no one can see the Father except through Me.”

To “walk in the Spirit” means that your way of life.  Your everyday choices are made based on His Word and His will for your life.  You walk in the flesh, when your choices and decisions are based on what YOU want.  We have a free will to choose life or death.  God’s way or our own way.  God will not stop you from choosing the flesh walk.  He doesn’t want you to, but He won’t stop you.  It is completely YOUR choice.

When we choose to walk after the Spirit.  To set our hearts and minds on God’s ways and His will for our lives, then this wonderful promise comes alive to us!  Satan cannot bring a charge against us because our sins are washed away.  We are white as snow.  There is truly no condemnation that can be brought against our past, no matter how evil we were…Jesus’ Blood can make all things new.

Don’t know Him?

Meet Jesus Here…

Blessings everyone…
