“What then shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?” (Matthew 27:22)
Jesus is standing before Pontius Pilot for sentencing. The crowd was insane with hatred, much like we are seeing in the streets of America now. They wanted Him dead. Half of them probably didn’t even know WHY they were doing this, but mob mentality is contagious and merciless. Pontius Pilot knew that Jesus was innocent and did not want His blood on his hands and even washed his hands in front of the crowd to show he did not agree with them. But eventually their will prevailed and He sentenced Jesus to death.
The leaders of this mob knew that Jesus Christ was the Messiah but He didn’t fit their idea of what He should be, so they rejected Him. He fit all the prophetic criteria found in the Torah and the prophets, especially Isaiah 53. Yet they still were determined to kill Him.
What did they do with Jesus who is called Christ? They rejected His gift of salvation. That whole crowd rejected Him in the cruelest way possible. To this day, two thousand years later, they are still rejecting Him as Messiah in Israel.
One question remains today: What will you do with Jesus who is called the Christ? Some people say “No, I don’t believe in God” and others say “I’ve got too much living to do” and still others say “No, Christianity is fake.” And then there are those who say “Yes, I want You Jesus!” and they run to Him and take up their cross and follow Him all the way into the Kingdom of God.
The Kingdom of God is being populated one soul at a time by those who are saying Yes to Him. Jesus is not just a historical figure who lived and died. He is alive forevermore. That is the difference. He is the lifeline God has thrown to a lost and dying world and now the choice literally is life or death. Choose Jesus and live or choose your own way and die eternally separated from God.
People don’t realize what it means to be without God. God’s hand is covering this planet because of His children. Those who have said “yes” to Jesus. But as we near the end of the age of grace, His hand is slowly lifting and as it does, the enemy, Satan and his hordes of evil spirits are rushing in to bring chaos and destruction and hopeless…and hatred into the world.
We are seeing it play out before our very eyes. Never have I seen the level of hatred being against people for their skin color, their location, their religion, their political affiliation. Hatred divides while love unifies. America is being torn apart from within through hatred. Unreasonable and irrational hatred. Evil is now good and right in the eyes of society and good is now evil and unacceptable.
As the days increase in wickedness, God’s hand will continue to lift off this planet and just like the Bible says, the days will be perilous. Going out to the store will be dangerous. Children are just sex objects nowadays to perverse men. No mercy. No love. No peace. That is the world without God.
As the time draws near for the Bridegroom to come for His Bride, the question still remains: what will you do with Jesus who is the Christ? Say yes and enter the Kingdom with the Bride or no and live in a world without God and eventually an eternity without Him. Without God, there is no light, there is no hope and there is no peace. Think about it.
Yet for all this evil, God’s arms are still opened wide to YOU. He is saying Come! I love You! I died so YOU can live with Me forever. Choose LIFE. Choose Jesus today. It is the best decision you will make all day, all week, all year and for all eternity.
